  • Strange branch shading

    Hi!

I'm getting some weird shading on some of my branches. Does anyone recognize the issue? It's the strongest when i look at the branch with the sun straight behind it.

    Thanks in advance

    Hi,

Just from looking at the screenshot, it could be the normals direction that was set from the Light Seam Reduction property. I would suggest going to the Branch generator and editing that property to see if that fixes it.

Let me know if this helps!

      Hi!

      Thanks for the response!

My light seem reduction is set to 0, and increasing it only makes the issue worse :/

Maybe i should specify that i'm using Modeler v8.3.0 (Unity subscription edition).

This problem appears even on the template trees. (shown in picture)

        Hi,

Another thing to try is the in the Branch generator, go to the 'Skin' group -> 'Welding' and try editing the 'Lighting' curve. Basically, this alters the normal alignment of the branch skin in the weld region.
