Maya and ZBrush have a very useful navigation feature that allows the user to tumble the viewport with the origin of the tumbling/rotation occurring on the area of the mesh thatÔÇÖs directly beneath the mouse-down position.
This is very useful when you are closely zoomed into a tree to focus work on a particular area and want to tumble around that area. With the current tumbling tools in SpeedTree, this isnÔÇÖt possible without losing said area from the viewport. So you end up constantly having to reframe the area, tumble, reframe, tumble, etc.
In Maya itÔÇÖs an option (thatÔÇÖs off by default) found under View-->Camera Tools-->Tumble Tool Option Box-->Tumble on object. It would be very nice to have something similar in SpeedTree
Cheers!
