  • OBJ export slow

    Hi there,

is there any reason why exporting a mesh to the .OBJ format is extremely slow? I'm exporting an average sized tree, of about 150.000 polygons and it's taken 10 minutes so far, with just over 10 MegaBytes written to disc, so it's far from finished. I would love to see some big speed improvements here, because at this rate it's even slower than Onyx Tree's OBJ exporter (which is slow in it's own right).

    Cheers!

I am not seeing anything like that. I can export the high detail broadleaf sample (300k+ triangles) in about 8 seconds.

What platform are you on, and what version of SpeedTree?

      Hi Greg, thanks for replying.

This was me using SpeedTree V6.2.x on OSX. It was a save from a beefy Mac Pro to our servers over the company network. I’ll test to see if local saves fare any better.

      Cheers.
