Bean plant leaf position

Hi,

I'm trying to model a bean plant, and the leaf arrangement is such that each stem has two opposing leaves on the stem and a third leaf at the tip of the stem, as seen in this photo: https://newfs.s3.amazonaws.com/taxon...e-bwalters.jpg

Is it possible to create this arrangement on a branch in SpeedTree, and if so, how do I go about configuring it?

Hello phillxfx

One of the ways to get this leaf placement is to use the Phyllotaxy generation mode. You can find more information about the modes here.
In your leaf generator properties, go to the Generation panel and change the Generation mode the Phyllotaxy with the Opposite (distichous) style. If you change the Extend parent type to Any with a count of one, a leaf will be generated a the tip of your branch.
Then, you can adjust your leaves orientation by editing the properties in the Orientation panel, here is the doc about this. You can use the properties curves to adjust the leaves based on their placement on the branch.
