  • Mesh Fronds rolls when the branch changes angle

    Hi,
This issue forces me to create my own meshes in Maya and import them in speedtree. But I would like to create the frond straight in ST and randomize it as much as I can.

So here is what I mean by the frond changes angle when the branch parent bends

Plant factory has a node called Hydra, it works pretty well, no matter what the parent position angle it will maintain the rotation of the leaves.

    Thanks for the help,

    Hi,

I suspect it's the "Alignment" property in the "Spine" group causing this. I worked up a quick example that has a 0.0 value for "Alignment" on the fronds and they keep their orientation relative to the stem as it bends.

Change the value of the force named "Stem Bender" to make the stem droop as a test. Is this what you're tyring to achieve?
