  • PointCache error in 3Ds Max

    Hi everyone,

Please take a look at video below.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qqnq...ature=youtu.be

My tree animation was very fine until the second half of timeline. The mesh goes crazy despite there's no error message during exporting process.

Can you help me spot out what causes this?

    Hello,

Very strange. I really have no idea

What version of SpeedTree are you using?
    What version of Max?
What file type and type of point cache did you export to?

I used SpeedTree Cinema 8 and Max 2017.

About caching, my export mode is Level 2 - Big branches.
Cache data type is PC2 with Per frame checked (but SpeedTree generates one single big file for the whole sequence)
      Flip axis is enabled.
      Wind animation with gusting enabled.

It's 4AM in VN right now so I am not nearby PC for now. Later I will send you the screenshot of export window.

By the way, a couple of days ago I had submitted a question about Import SpeedTree mesh for V-ray but it seems being deleted at the moment.

        Hi Greg,

This is my export option used.

The default point cache format is MCX. PC2 is created by converting the mcx to pc2. I've been actually thinking of getting rid of PC2. Can I ask why you're using it?
