  • Truncating branches

    Hi,
How can I "chop" the end off a branch and force it to have a cap? Either using generators or even hand-drawn. Can't figure it out :-(

    Thanks!

    Hi,

Depending on the modeler version you are using, the process of adding caps will be different.

If you are using ST v7, then anytime the Radius -> right hand point on the Blue curve isn't set to zero, then a cap will appear. You just have to assign the cap material by going into the Branch generator -> Material group and assigning the material in the Cap material property. The controls to the cap will be found in the 'Branch ' group. Here is a link to the v7 Branch generator documentation page that explains what each property does: https://docs.speedtree.com/doku.php?id=spine_generator

As for ST v8, there is an actual cap generator which you have to add as a child to the Branch generator. So create the generator and assign the cap material. There you will have a lot of settings to get it looking the way you want. Here is a link to our v8 Cap documentation page: http://docs8.speedtree.com/modeler/d...=cap_generator

    Hope this helps!

Thanks - works great for v7!

Is there a v8 for Unity? I can't see a download link. I'll upgrade if so but for now it's fine in v7.
