  • No mesh importing SRT into Modeler

    GrassCluster.spm:
Tree > Leaves (Geometry > Simple leaf), to be used as a cluster of grass.

Import GrassCluster.srt as a mesh asset into a new SPM file.

    Result:
The imported mesh is displayed as a red X.
But it is good importing to UE4.

    Hey there,

In order to import a mesh into the Modeler it needs to be in either .fbx or .obj format. Additionally, the SpeedTree for UE4 Modeler subscriptions does not allow the exporting of meshes. You can, however, export a material and import it into a new .spm file and then generate a mesh from the material from within the Modeler. See the documentation here and here.

The .srt format is SpeedTree's proprietary file real time format for use in UE4. You cannot edit or import an .srt file with the Modeler. See the documentation here for details.

    Regards

        Hey,

Yes. That was actually an oversight. It's not supposed to be there and will be removed in future versions of the UE4 Modeler.

        Sorry for the confusion.

        Regards
