  • Speed Tree 5 lighting issue

Hi all. I can't upload a photo of the issue because this work is under NDA.

The issue first occurred when inputting incorrect values for the First and Last parameters for the leaf card generation (placement). At one point I was able to, via the parameters, enable and disable this issue for lack of a better term. It seemed to happen when trying to place cards at the extreme end of a branch. The light on the cards would switch from normal to extremely dark. Now my scene is stuck this way and I can't figure out how to get it to return to normal.

    Has anyone countered this issue?

    Hi,

I am not quite sure what you are describing. Which ST engine are you using, games or cinema? And what are the steps to replicate this?

      Hi Sonia,

Thank you for the quick reply. I'm using 5.1. I haven't been able to replicate it. I'm not sure what else to do but try and rebuild the tree in a new file. Looking into it further, the light facing up will illuminate the bottom of the tree but when light is cast from top down, the cards are not illuminated as you would expect.

UPDATE: I disabled the diffuse texture from my leaf card setup, but kept the normal. I could see 2 of the cards illuminated properly at the top of the tree where the rest were dark. I adjusted the Last value again and other cards began to receive light properly. I tried this before and it seemed to have no effect.

Update 2: actually, adjusting both first and last effect lighting of the cards.
