    Is it possible to render the specular masks into the billboards? It looks like the specular masks only render into the 3D part of the tree atlas

    Hello,

    The Compiler does not currently render specular maps for billboards. Billboards are meant to render as fast as possible since there are many on the screen, and they are rarely close enough to the camera to accurately show specular highlights anyway. If you do want specular, usually just a specular value applied to the whole billboard is enough since you already have the normal map.

    That being said, we're in the planning stages for SpeedTree v8, and billboard rendering is being overhauled. It will most likely include specular, among other things.
