  • LOD transition differences between All LODs and LODS + Billboard Why?

    When exporting models using "All LODs" my LOD transitions are almost perfect. They work as intended. However, when I chose LODs + Billboard, I get a huge difference in the transitions between LODs. There's a significant difference in popping. What's causing this? Is there a difference in these or am I just imagining this? lol.

    Hi,

    From previous posts, I am assuming you are using the ST modeler for UE4. When using ST LOD transition, the transition from 3d to billboard will pop. For example, if you are placing the model as an actor and chose ST LOD transitions when importing the asset. However, if you are painting the assets as foliage, the ST LOD transition doesn't work and you want to make sure when importing the model, you select crossfaded LOD transitions. With the crossfaded transitions, the crossfade will be applied to the billboard and not pop.
