  • Leaf mesh normals

Hi guys. So I wana make a low poly but realistic tree for a game I play (Fallout 4/Skyrim). In that game all leaf normals have to face upwards so that the leaves are displayed correctly ingame. Can you tell me how I can do so after applying the leaf mesh to my tree and the leaf material to it? Sorry still a complete beginner with Speedtree

    Hello,
You'll want to make sure the "leaf mesh" properties under "skin" is set to "flip" and "fix winding. Then you can set up your leave orientation to face upwards. I'd start putting the "sky influence" all the way up with the unification set to "global" and then make your edits. Under view, you can "disable two sided rendering" to check for reversed leaves.
The very last step is to adjust your normals under the lighting section.
