    How do I mix 2 different textures? (see attached picture):
    1. The lower part of the bark
    2. the upper part of the bark

    Hi,

    To achieve something like this, I would suggest having the main bark texture as your Trunk's material and then creating a 'Shell' generator with the second bark material assigned to it. The Shell is basically geometry that is layered over the parent branch/trunk. You can use the properties in this generator to control the height and UV mapping of the shell material. You will need to create a opacity map for the shell material that allows the base material to come through and blend nicely towards the top of the shell.
