  • Multiple Leaf Textures and Cutouts

    Hello

I saw a very useful tutorial about cut outs :

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r0RB6cpcGdk

my question is I want to use multiple cut outs for the leaf , in fact different shape and textures. do I have to use multiple Leaf Generator and use cutouts?

    thank you

You will need multiple materials and cut-outs, but if you look at the top left of the materials tab in your leaf mesh, you'll see a "-" & "+" icon, which allow you to add different types of leaves and distribute them using the weight settings (so no need for additional leaf generators unless you'd like to control each design variation separately). You can learn more about the leaf generator here: https://docs8.speedtree.com/modeler/...mesh_generator

    We hope this helps!

      Hello

Thank you I'm doing some cutouts now, and really enjoy it.
the thing that bothers me is the cutout window close up as soon as the mouse leaves it. is there anyway to be active all the time?
      thank you

Actually the windows just closes and there is no way i can make this mesh cutout to work, the leaves just show the complete texture. I dont want to rant in any way but Speedtree gives me more headaches than I thought.

Kajisan what issues are you experiencing with the mesh cutout feature? Have you uploaded an opacity map to mask the portion of the texture you'd like to use?

If you're new to PBR materials, we'd recommend checking out our docs on materials.

(Also, haAranoos, I've passed along the request to our engineers.)
