  • Where can I get thumbnail images?

    Hello
I recently started using Speed Tree 8
In v7, thumbnail images were automatically saved in the directory with the spm file.
The thumbnail image cannot be found in v8.
    Is it stored somewhere else?
Please let me know if there is a way to get thumbnail images

    Hello,

Thumbnail images are stored within the spm file now. You can see them in the new and open dialogs in the Modeler.

Also, the installer registers a shell extension that lets you see the thumbnails in windows explorer. However, this sometimes this stops working with Windows Updates. You can do "regsvr32 /s SpeedTreeShellExtension.dll" from an administrative command prompt in the SpeedTree win64 folder to re-register it, if necessary.

      Thank you for your reply.
If thumbnail files are stored in spm files, can they be saved individually as image files?

I want to manage data with various software using thumbnail images

You can always make an image of the tree from the file menu. You can use export image or render photo.
